As their name suggests these termites only infest extremely damp or wet timber. Plumbing leaks, faulty gutters, broken drains, or other excessive moisture conditions will allow these termites to exist. These termites are 1″ in length and are much larger than drywood and subterranean termites.

Dampwood termites can be eliminated by simply removing the water source. Identifying the conducive conditions such as a leak or faulty drainage will alleviate the problem by eliminating the wet timber. Call Thrasher if you need any more information about Dampwood termites.
